## Dental Health in the Ethiopian-Israeli Community
Higher rates of tooth decay in community children (especially ages 2-8). Causes: sugar-rich diet, fewer preventive dental visits, language barriers.
## Free Treatment Eligibility
Children up to age 18: free dental care at all health funds (National Health Insurance Law 1994). Includes: check-up, fluoride coating, fillings, basic extractions.
## What to Do
Age 1: first paediatric dentist visit. Every 6 months: routine check. Age 6: permanent teeth emerge — monitor development. Orthodontics: partially covered up to age 18.
## Daily Prevention
Brush twice daily with fluoride toothpaste. Dental floss from age 4. Reduce sugar — especially sweetened drinks.
