What is the Siket Scholarship?

The Siket Scholarship is a Ministry of Aliyah & Integration scholarship for new immigrant students. Its name derives from the word "rehabilitation" — it is designed to enable olim to fund academic studies in the first years, when family income is still low and limited.

Who is eligible?

  • New immigrant from Ethiopia (and other countries) with up to 10 years since aliyah
  • Studying for an undergraduate or master's degree at a recognized institution
  • Not receiving a full tuition scholarship from another government source
  • Family income up to 200% of the poverty line

What's included?

  • Annual tuition grant: ₪6,000–₪15,000 (based on income and study track)
  • Academic absorption case management
  • Access to Ministry of Aliyah academic counseling service

Application steps

  1. Access gov.il portal — search for "מלגת שיקת"
  2. Complete online application (can also contact the nearest Absorption Ministry office)
  3. Attach olim certificate, enrollment confirmation, income verification
  4. Decision within 3–5 weeks
  5. Payment directly to account or university
