What you get automatically

Absorption basket — 2026 amounts, for the whole entitlement period (not per month):

• single — ₪21,694
• single parent — ₪35,071
• couple — ₪41,359

Plus supplements for children and for pensioners. The first payment is made at the airport, followed by six monthly payments during the first year. The basket is not income-tested.

This page previously said "monthly grant in the first year (~₪3,000-4,500)". That was wrong in both structure and amount.

Ulpan — Ulpan Aleph is free. It is an entitlement, not a requirement (the page previously said "mandatory"). Olim from Ethiopia have a longer window to use it — check with the Ministry of Aliyah and Integration.

Temporary housing — absorption centres.

Employment programmes

• Place-IL — not a general placement service: it is a cross-company internship platform for STEM students and graduates, aimed at six under-represented groups of which Ethiopian-Israelis are one.
• ITWorks — a real nonprofit, but the target groups it publishes are women affected by the war, Arab citizens of Israel, and olim from Russia and Ukraine. It does not name the Ethiopian community — check with them directly whether you fit.
• Atidim — runs IDF and industry tracks. Note that "Atidim Academic" and "Atidim Military", which appeared here, are not the names of its programmes.
