What is "Yozmim Esek"?
"Yozmim Esek" (Business Initiators) is a business entrepreneurship course run by Israel's Small and Medium Business Authority (Maof), designed for people who are at the very start of setting up a business. The course teaches business and entrepreneurial thinking and helps participants assess the viability of their business idea before investing time and money in it.
Who is it for?
Anyone with "a dream or an idea for opening a business" — there are no special prerequisites. The course is open to every Israeli citizen, including members of the Ethiopian-Israeli community who want to start a business. There is no separate track or dedicated discount for any specific population group — the terms are the same for all registrants.
What does the course include?
- Scope: 70 academic hours, spread over 14 sessions
- Cost: ₪728 for the full course
- Content: shaping a focused business idea (including tools such as the Business Model Canvas), marketing strategy, identifying your customer base, financial management and cash flow, and digital marketing
- Skills: business thinking, entrepreneurship, creativity, decision-making and problem-solving
- Format: sessions run at Authority branches around the country (some via Zoom); the exact format, days and hours vary by branch — check with the relevant branch before registering
