Register Within 3 Months

Registration at the National Insurance Institute (BTL) is not automatic. You must appear in person within 3 months of aliyah to protect your full benefit entitlement. Bring your teudat oleh, Israeli ID (if issued), and an Israeli bank account number.

What You Get From Day One

Child allowance — no waiting period. ILS 173/month for the first child, ILS 219 for each of the second to fourth, ILS 173 from the fifth (1 Jan 2026). Submit Form 707 within 12 months of the child's birth or aliyah.

  • Maternity/birth grant: 6 months of insurance coverage
  • Disability benefit: 6 months
  • Unemployment benefit: 6 months + 12 months of prior work

Maternity Benefits for New Immigrants

New-immigrant women who give birth are entitled to a one-time birth grant (ILS 2,103 for a first child, ILS 946 for a second, ILS 631 from the third; ILS 10,514 for twins — 1 Jan 2026) even without prior employment. Maternity-leave pay requires prior employment in Israel or qualifying employment abroad.

Income Support

Immigrants with no minimum income are entitled to income-support (Havtachat Hachnasah) — ILS 2,076/month for a single person aged 25-54, ILS 2,596 from age 55 (1 Jan 2026).
