About Rehovot
Rehovot has a long-established Israeli-Ethiopian community, with a significant concentration in the Kiryat Moshe neighbourhood. Most of the neighbourhood's residents are from the community, and it is currently going through urban-renewal processes — driving demand for additional housing options in the city and surrounding area.
Who is eligible?
- Community members 40+ with risk factors (family, BMI, lifestyle)
- Patients with diabetes or hypertension — ongoing support
- Youth in families with disease history
What's included?
- Nutrition workshops: Amharic-speaking, focused on community foods (injera, berbere, mitmita)
- Community walking program: 3x/week, free
- Screening tests: in community settings, free
- Personal dietary counseling: for diagnosed patients
- Support groups: for those with chronic conditions
