About
ISEF (Israel Sephardi Education Fund) was founded in 1977 as a philanthropic foundation to empower marginalized communities in Israel. In 1991, after Operation Solomon, the foundation expanded its focus to the Ethiopian-Israeli community. Today, the majority of scholarship recipients are Ethiopian-Israelis.
Main programs
- B.A. scholarship — full tuition + 3,000-3,500 ILS monthly stipend (~400 students/year)
- M.A. scholarship — coverage + academic mentor
- Ph.D. scholarship — coverage + research budget
- Community leadership — workshops on community engagement
- Alumni network — 4,000+ graduates
Eligibility requirements
- 85+ average in high-school matriculation / academic average
- Psychometric exam 580+ (for B.A.)
- Military or national service
- Personal interview
- Community leadership potential
