About
Hila (Education for Ethiopian-Israeli Children) was founded in 1998 by graduates of the JDC "Makif" program. The organization runs tutoring teams embedded in schools and community centers.
Main programs
- Academic tutoring — math, English, sciences — in small groups
- "First Stone" program — strengthening grades 1-3 (school building blocks)
- Parent workshops — how to engage in your child's learning
- Embedded education staff — teacher-coordinators in schools with high concentration
- Intergenerational program — senior-citizen mentoring
