Urban Renewal — Kiryat Moshe (Rehovot)

Urban renewal program in Kiryat Moshe (Rehovot) — one of 5 priority neighborhoods for the community. Residents receive a new apartment under evacuation-rebuild or TAMA 38 agreement.

Who is eligible?

Current residents of apartments in Kiryat Moshe, Rehovot (owners or protected tenants). This area is marked top-priority in 2024 with a dedicated urban-renewal administration with a cultural-bridge mandate.

What's included

  • New apartment in place: same size as existing + extra area (10-25% depending on project)
  • Temporary rent: during construction (~2-3 years)
  • Reduced purchase tax: new apartment treated as first-home for tax
  • Community preservation: guiding principle — residents return to the same neighborhood
  • Infrastructure upgrades: roads, education, welfare — under separate budget

What to do now

  1. Eligibility check: with the urban-renewal admin (Ministry of Construction)
  2. Sign agreement: most building residents must sign (66%-80% depending on agreement type)
  3. Legal agreement: independent attorney for residents (Tebeka can assist)
  4. Local committee: approves the plan
  5. Construction: 2-3 years, return to new apartment

Other priority neighborhoods: Ramat Eliyahu (Rishon LeZion), Dora=Ramat Yadin / Neot Shaked / Kiryat Nordau (Netanya).

⚠️ Before signing: consult an independent attorney. There are cases of unfair contracts.
