2022 inter-ministerial committee

An inter-ministerial committee was formed in 2022 following femicides in the Ethiopian-Israeli community. The 2023 report identified specific gaps: Amharic-speaking responder shortage, shelter access barriers, cultural risk factors.

Restraining order — same-day possible

  1. Call police (100), file a complaint, request a restraining order
  2. Family court can issue a temporary order within 24 hours
  3. Welfare officer can run emergency proceedings without the partner's consent

Legal status during separation

"Spouse of oleh" status does not automatically lapse on separation. Call Population Authority helpline: 1700-706-060.
