Israel's only community-health organization focused on Ethiopian-Israelis. Runs health navigators, medical translation, and prevention projects.
What is it?
Tene Briut is an NGO dedicated to the health of Ethiopian-Israelis. The model is unique — a culturally and linguistically Ethiopian-Israeli professional team operating across nearly every HMO and hospital in Israel.
Programs
- Health navigators — accompany patients through HMOs, hospitals, and complex procedures
- Translation service — real-time Amharic/Tigrinya/Hebrew at medical appointments
- Chronic disease prevention — diabetes, hypertension — community-level early detection
- Mental health — community counseling and training for helping professions
- Women's health — fertility, pregnancy, prevention
