Beta Israel of North America (BINA) is an umbrella organization of ~5,000 Beta Israel residing in the U.S. and Canada. Most are members of families that made aliyah to Israel but moved to North America for employment / education. Founded in 2010.
Main programs
- Fundraising — for Israeli projects (ENP, IAEJ, Tene Briut)
- Inter-community connection — dialogue with American Jewish federations
- Ambassador grooming — community envoys to AJC, AIPAC, and other events
- Heritage tourism — yearly community tours to Israel for relatives
- Oral archive — EN-language documentation of aliyah waves
