"Marom" scholarship (Council for Higher Education) — what's verified ahead of the 5787 cycle

Important distinction: which "Marom"?

More than one Israeli organization is called "Marom." This article covers only the Council for Higher Education's (CHE) "Marom" scholarship — an academic scholarship. It is not the same as "Marom — business support" run by the Jewish Agency, nor the same as ENP's computerized enrichment program "Marom" (enp.org.il/marom). Tedros has a dedicated rights page verified directly against che.org.il/scholarships/marom (verified July 2026): the Marom scholarship is a national CHE/VATAT program exclusively for students of Ethiopian origin (15+ years in Israel, or born in Israel to parents born in Ethiopia). From the 2026-27 academic year onward, master's students can apply too, not only undergraduates. The amount: a flat ₪10,000 per academic year. Registration for 2026-27 opens September 9, 2026 and closes in early November, directly via che.org.il/scholarships/marom — not through Perach.

An additional detail that surfaced — and that we could not verify

A separate check turned up information suggesting an additional Marom scholarship registration cycle for the 2025-26 academic year, run through Perach (perach.org.il), with a deadline of November 11, 2025. This detail was not verified through direct access to the source — in that check, the CHE page blocked direct access (403 error), and the information came only from search results citing the CHE and Perach sites.

Because this detail contradicts the directly verified information above (which does not mention Perach at all), we note it here only for full transparency — not as a reliable fact. It may reflect confusion between the CHE Marom scholarship and a different program, or an additional enrollment channel not documented on our verified rights page.
