Who Is Maatzimot?

Maatzimot — Empowering Women was founded in 2017 by Ethiopian-Israeli women, for Ethiopian-Israeli women. Operates nationwide with focus cities: Tel Aviv, Rishon LeZion, Netanya, Haifa, Kiryat Malachi.

Key Programmes

Professional mentoring: Second-generation women (mentors) paired with first-generation women. Monthly meetings, 12-month professional support.

Small business and entrepreneurship: Business management training; loan support (Maof Fund); WhatsApp network for sharing clients and contracts.

Legal support: Partnership with Tebeka for: divorce, agunot, domestic violence, employment rights.

Support groups: Agunot, domestic violence survivors, single mothers.

Public advocacy: Community women represented in Knesset committees, conferences, legislation processes.
