What is Lamarkhak
Lamarkhak is a JDC Israel programme helping working-age adults who are unemployed or underemployed return to suitable full employment. A culturally-adapted track exists for the Ethiopian-Israeli community.

Who qualifies
Unemployed 6+ months; underemployed (involuntary part-time); returning after a break; ages 18–65 seeking a career change.
First appointment
60–90 minute diagnostic session (Amharic-speaking counsellors at some centres). Skills assessment. Personal action plan. Employment mentor for 12 months.
Success data (JDC 2024)
68% find employment within 9 months. 79% retain employment after 12 months. 84% satisfaction rate.

Walk in directly or get a referral from the Employment Service, social worker, welfare department, or Fidel/IAEJ.
