Learning Ge'ez: Beta Israel's Sacred Language — Courses and Resources

What is Ge'ez?

Ge'ez is an ancient Semitic language — the liturgical language of Beta Israel, including the Orit (Pentateuch in Ge'ez). Still spoken by Kes (priests) in prayers today.

Why Learn Ge'ez?

Connect with roots, understand family prayers, communicate with Kes, preserve heritage (fewer than 500 fluent speakers remain in Israel).
