Service Year, Nuclei and Leadership: Opportunities for Young Ethiopian-Israelis

What is a Service Year?

A service year is a volunteering year for ages 18-22, before military service or in its stead (for exemptions). Participants receive: monthly stipend (1,200-1,800 ILS), housing, insurance, professional experience.

Community-Specific Programmes

Beta Israel Nucleus: dedicated programme for Ethiopian-Israeli youth — service year in community-concentrated neighbourhoods (Kiryat Malachi, Netanya). ~30 youth per nucleus. Contact: ENP 03-5368944.

Aharai Service Year: combines education, Ethiopian identity, leadership. 12 months, 30+ hrs/week community service + dedicated studies. aharai.org.il

Timeline
