CV Writing Guide for the Ethiopian-Israeli Community — ATS & Hebrew

What is ATS and Why Does It Matter?

ATS (Applicant Tracking System) software automatically filters CVs before any human sees them. Companies with 50+ employees almost always use ATS. If your CV doesn't pass — no one sees it.

Golden Rules for an Israeli CV

Structure: 1 page (up to 10 years experience); 2 pages (beyond). Format: clean Word (.docx) or simple PDF — no complex tables, no Canva designs.

Keywords: Copy exact phrases from the job ad. If it says "project management" — use those exact words.

Language: Active verbs: "managed", "led", "improved". Numbers: "grew sales by 23%", not "improved sales".

Avoid: Age, ID number, photo (not required, can cause unconscious bias), complex graphic designs (ATS can't read tables).

For the Tech Sector

If you're in a bootcamp (Tech-Career, ENP): include GitHub link, built projects, technology stack (Python, React, SQL).
