Criminal Record Expungement — The New Law: Who Is Eligible and How to Apply

The New Law (2024 Amendment)

The Criminal Record and Rehabilitation of Offenders Law (2024 Amendment) expands expungement conditions. Minor offences committed more than 10 years ago can now be erased.

Why This Matters for the Community

People who participated in the 2019 protests (Ethiopian-Israeli community protest after Solomon Tekah's death) and were arrested can apply for expungement. Criminal records block: government jobs, senior military service, academic programmes.
